If you’re finding it difficult to get to sleep at night or are continuously waking up worrying about work-related things, then it could be a sign that you’re stressed. Of course, working hard is a good way to improve your career. However, it should not completely take over your life. Establish a good work life balance which will complement both your professional and personal life.

You are feeling tired and lethargic and seriously lacking motivation could result in you making unhealthy choices. If you are beginning to start ordering takeaways, overeating and not exercising routinely can be indicators you need a holiday.

Starting to make a lot more errors at work

A good indicator that you are drained is that you begin to make a lot of mistakes at work. It’s a sign that you need to take a step back a bit. If this is happening on a continuous basis then it is time to relax and take some time off.

Lost your enthusiasm

If you are not as enthusiastic to go to work and are dreading it then you need a break. If you feel your enthusiasm is waning and can’t remember what made you like your job, then it is time to get away and reevaluate your position.

You start missing big events in your personal life

Do you feel that you are working all the time? Well, then you need to change that. There are only so many family or friends outings you can miss or cancel before you crack. Also, your friends and family will begin to get annoyed with you too.

You’ve lost your spark

Trying to generate the motivation to perform your job to the best of your ability can be difficult if you can’t remember the last time you had a holiday. Especially if your role is very demanding.

Signs you have lost your spark are that you find it hard to get out of bed in the morning, sighing a lot and wondering would anyone even notice you not at work today. No matter how much you enjoy your job it is understandable that you lose interest from time to time if that is all you do and think of.  So, go take that holiday and you could be amazed as to how motivated you are on your return. If this doesn’t work, then it may just be the time for a new job.
