Lack of sleep, butterflies in your stomach and sweaty palms these are all known symptoms of dreaded interview nerves the majority of us suffer from.
We have 4 strange ways to help you with them and to make sure you don’t freeze on the big day whilst in the hot seat.
4 Strange Ways To Help Those Interview Nerves
Slow Down
When nerves take hold we do tend to speed up. While waiting take some deep breaths through your nose and count to ten, slowly breathing out for ten and repeat three times. This will allow your heart rate to slow down making you feel more relaxed.
Shaking Hands
This is a simple trick to stop yourself from shaking, by squeezing and tightening your thigh muscles you will stop any other part of your body from shaking. It is simple but it is effective.
Shaking Voice
Take a trip to the bathroom ( only if you have time). Stick your tongue out and try to say the nursery rhyme Mary had a little lamb out loud. This will open your throat and make you sound more confident. Remember to do this in the bathroom, not in front of the hiring manager.
Stand up
More than likely you will be directed into a waiting room before the interview. If there are seats available don’t sit down. This can cause you to get more nervous and the last thing you want is for the hiring manager to see you struggling to get up out of a seat. Standing will make you come across as more confident and will be a great first impression to make.
